Multi-language content increases sales potential

Even if a prospective customer speaks your language, they’ll be more comfortable making a booking in their own. A European Commission study found that 42% of respondents will never purchase products that aren’t displayed in their native language. Your distribution partners will also appreciate the fact that your content is ready to go for different markets.

Multi-language products are the key to opening new markets and boosting revenues.

Fast, expert translations

Your translations will be complete and loaded onto Magpie within seven days. All Magpie translations are completed by an in-country translator (for example, if you’re translating into Korean, your translator will be in Korea), then quality checked by an independent reviewer, before being approved and uploaded.

Different languages – different costs

Pricing is governed by supply and demand. For Japanese to English, for example, our translators are native speakers of English with perfect knowledge of Japanese. There are fewer translators with those attributes than, for example, native English speakers with perfect Spanish. This leads to different prices depending on the language.

The value of an expert translator

Colleagues or friends who speak other languages are often enlisted by operators to help with content. But how good is their writing? Do they have professional linguistic skills? How’s their grammar? Do they have a friend to do a proper quality assurance check of their work? Will they give you a guarantee that the output is 100% accurate? Will you still be friends with them if they mess something up and you don’t discover it for two months?

Machine versus human translations

Automated translation tools aren’t perfect, especially when you’re using descriptive, creative language, or names of places and attractions. Here’s an example that illustrates why you might want a native speaker to do the job instead of a machine: we’ve taken a random tour description from a Japanese tour and activity website and run it through a popular machine translation tool…

Machine translations are often quite good. Just not all the time…

Having professionally-translated content sends a message to potential customers: “We care about your language, and we care about you.” Machine translations can easily harm your credibility, and drive customers away.

All languages covered

Let us know if you need translation into a language that isn’t on our list and we’ll get back to you with pricing. No language is too obscure for our team.

Translation pricing & discounts

When you select the products and the target language for translation, a price is displayed for approval. The price is calculated by multiplying the number of words in your complete product description by the price per word shown in the current pricing table.Once you select “Approve and proceed”, Magpie pre-approves that amount on your credit card on file.

We don’t debit the cost right away because there’s usually a discount applied, based on text repetition within your content. We’ll apply the discount, which might be as much as 10%, when the translations are complete and uploaded into your Magpie account.

Prices are updated from time to time. Click here for the latest pricing.
